Habitat for Humanity

September 2nd, 2020

St. Stephen volunteers will be working on a Habitat for Humanity home on Sunday, Oct. 11 as part of the 2020 Wilson County Faith Build. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic there will be new safety and health procedures:  1.  A limit of 15 volunteers per house.  2.  Volunteers will work in smaller groups  and practice social distancing to the extent possible.  3.  New hardhats, new safety google and new gloves for each volunteer can be kept by the volunteer.  4.  All volunteers will wear face masks.  5.  Extra hand sanitizer will be available.  6.  New processes for cleaning tools at the end of the day.  7.  Food must be served in individual wrappers or boxes.  We will be working on the third weekend of the build. Construction tasks would normally include: interior painting, installing interior doors, installing and caulking floor trim and kitchen cabinets installation. If you are interested in volunteering for Oct. 11,  please contact John McCarthy at mccarthycpa@tds.net or 615-557-7121. Anyone over the age of 65 or anyone who is worried that volunteering would add undue stress or jeopardize their health or the health of a person with whom they live is encouraged not to volunteer.
