Christmas Wishes Tree

Please visit the Christmas Wishes Tree and help those less fortunate.  Gifts will benefit two charities – Catholic Charities and Haiti Medical Mission.  Directions on returning the gifts wrapped/unwrapped is noted on the tag.  All gifts need to be returned and placed under the tree by Sunday, Dec. 17.  Questions, contact Laura Hooper at or 615-804-4192.

New Bishop Named

Pope Francis has named Father J. Mark Spalding, a priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville, to be the 12th Bishop of Nashville. The appointment was publicized at noon in Rome, 5 a.m. central time, on Tuesday November 21, 2017.  Bishop-elect Spalding will be ordained a bishop and installed as the Bishop of Nashville on February 2, 2018 at Sagrado Corazon at the Catholic Pastoral Center on McGavock Pike.  Bishop-elect Spalding, 52, a native of Fredericktown, KY and a member of a large extended family with roots dating to the earliest days of Catholic life west of the Appalachian Mountains, was ordained to the priesthood on August 3, 1991 at the St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, KY.  He is a graduate of Bethlehem High School in Bardstown, KY, and St. Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, Indiana. He received a master of religious studies and a licentiate in canon law from American University in Louvain, Belgium.  He is currently pastor of Holy Trinity Parish and Holy Name Parish in Louisville. He has also served as a vicar general for the archdiocese since 2011. He has served a number of other assignments including associate pastor at St. Joseph and chaplain at Bethlehem High School in Bardstown, associate pastor at St. Augustine in Lebanon, KY, associate pastor at St. Margaret Mary in Louisville, pastor of Immaculate Conception in LaGrange, KY. He has served as a judge, judicial vicar, and director of the tribunal for the archdiocese.

Charity Poker Tournament

No Limit Hold Em PokerFriday, Dec. 1 – 6:30pm – ??? in the Holy Family Center Hall.  Fee is $30 and includes:  dinner and $4,000 in play chips at no charge.  Re-donation of $20 during the first hour of play is available.  Prizes throughout the night!  Open to the first 80 players who register.  Contact Mike Porter to register at 615-308-6777 or email  Proceeds to Benefit the MR Foundation of Tennessee.  (Gambling is illegal in Tennessee.  No cash will be allowed on any table and no cash will be distributed.)

Breakfast with Santa

The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Knights, are again sponsoring Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 2.  Santa arrives at 9am and is scheduled to stay until 11am.  Breakfast is FREE!  There will also be: music, crafts, storytelling, and FREE pictures with Santa.  For everyone to sit and enjoy their breakfast, there will be two sittings from which to choose: 9-9:45am and 10-10:45am.   Everyone is welcome!  Donations to the Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter will be appreciated; see flyer on the bulletin board in the narthex for most needed items.


Children’s Christmas Choir

Rehearsals for the 2017 Children’s Christmas Choir begin Saturday, Dec. 2, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in Room 105. The choir will rehearse at the same time and place every Saturday thru Advent. St. Stephen Annual Christmas Party

The St. Stephen Annual Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9 starting at 6:30pm in the hall of the Holy Family Center.  The theme for this year is “Jingle and Mingle at the St. Stephen Parish Christmas Party.”  There will be food, music, dancing, wine silent auction, Christmas trivia, an “ugly Sweater Contest,” other games, and raffle.  Admission:  $30/adult, $20/child (12 and under).  Free childcare available (3 and over; sign up when you purchase your tickets).  Ticket sales after all the Masses this weekend, Dec. 2-3.  Stop by the ticket sales table in the old church.  The party is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
