Mathew 14:20
In today’s society, more and more people are facing food insecurity. While historically, the problem was centered in the cities, today food insecurity has expanded to the suburbs. To address this problem, the St. Stephen Catholic Community in partnership with Catholic Charities created the Thursday Lunch program in 2019. Thursday Lunch serves a free meal every Thursday to those in need in Western Wilson and Eastern Davidson Counties.
Volunteers prepare and distribute the lunches on Thursdays using a drive-through process as well as sit-down service in the Social Hall. Those who come inside enjoy a meal, fellowship and a few games of BINGO.
The Thursday Lunch Program has steadily grown and on average serves 150-175 meals each week.
